Important Announcement- A New Blog?

So what’s this big announcement I’ve been talking about? Considering all of the whacky stuff I do… no tellin right?

Well for one, it’s not too whacky. In fact this is probably one of the more intelligent moves I’ve made over the past few months, for sure.

And for anyone expecting some uber long post, sorry, this doesn’t call for such a thing.

Basically this post is an update in regards to the content that I will be blogging about here on TDL.

What I’ve realized since bringing this blog over to a self hosted wordpress site is this- I attract two different groups of people with my writings and work.

One is interested in most everything except…well for lack of a better comprehensive word, “pickup”.

The other is interested in that specific type of content.

What hit me recently (after a friend commented so) is that these two groups don’t mesh perfectly.

Sure, I can keep everything I write on one single blog, but it’s the same concept as mixing specific skill training with exercise- you lose efficiency and effectiveness.

I guess you could say I’ve learned to respect the differences between two separate groups of people (well, separate for the most part, I’m sure it’s not that black/white).

The end result?

The Dream Lounge will focus more on exercise, nutrition, and health- my stronger passions.

Now, I don’t want to pigeon hole myself into just those topics- I feel I have a lot of offer outside of those subjects- but they will constitute the larger portion of the blog from now on.

See “topics” to the right.

The topics I will be blogging less about here- or almost not at all- include dating and relationships.

Now, I haven’t blogged much personally about those topics since the blogspot days, but just to make it clear, that type of content won’t be here anymore (ie. Interviews on those subjects).

I will also blog less about The 21 Convention, at least in regards to numerous updates and specific event related details (meaning I will still blog about larger ideas surrounding and supporting the convention).

Then what’s going to happen to those topics?

Well that’s the kicker- I’m not going to stop posting content about those things all together- just not here.

I will be posting about those things on a new blog, The 21 Convention.

WHAT!? This is blasphemy!

No, not quite, ha.

The 21 Convention has been a blog for many months now- I just haven’t used it as such. I used it strictly to host the footage and support the convention.

What a few attendees and friends brought up to me however was this- between yearly footage releases, what new content will be on the site? Surely there should be something…

And it hit me. Why the hell don’t I just use the site as a blog (since, that’s what it is anyway).

DUHHHHH

I can’t believe I didn’t seriously consider this before…

Will the blog be solely written by me? No.

I will update it regularly with thoughts and updates I would have otherwise been tempted to put here on TDL. But the bulk of the content will be coming from the speakers themselves. Dozens of people have spoken at the event over the past 3 years- and site visitors seem to be asking for more content.

And I’m going to provide just that. It’s a win win for everyone.

I get to focus on other cool shit for TDL, the site get’s updated regularly with awesome content, visitors get high quality posts, and speakers get their name out there that much more.

As I’ve said before, I’m here to help everyone- speakers and attendees alike. As far as I’m concerned, everyone can use a helping hand at times…

In summary

The21Convention.com is a new blog that is already taking off due to the ridiculous amount of traffic that it receives. Most small updates and convention news will be posted there- larger “behind the scenes” ideas and such will still be posted here, but sparingly (and anything that is cross posted will be adjusted to fit each site and it’s unique readership).

The same can be said for dating/relationships. There will be little if any content on this blog pertaining to those topics- it will all be posted there.

Including The Dream Way- the book wrote and released electronically over a year ago. I will be giving it away free soon on The21Convention.com- no strings attached, just download (and even print out).

Second Important Announcement

I have been reading the blog of the guy who started Plenty of Fish- and as a result I have decided to keep everything as simple as possible on both TDL and T21C (he claims this is a large part of his success, and I’m beginning to see why).

As you can see on the sidebar, things have changed substantially (and a few more things are now working correctly thanks to Jonas).

I have also cleaned up the resources- or Recommended Reading- section. It’s infinitely easier to browse through now, especially for those new to the site.

The 21 Convention has gone through a similar revamping, so swing on by and check it out (that links to Nick Sparks interview which I actually transferred over from TDL, part 3 included, which was not seen here).

All in all, that’s the news. Comments/questions/concerns? I’m all ears.

Great Idea.. Im part of the minority though that reads your blog for both topics, so if you post something good on the other site, could you mention it on this blog?

    Hey Sean

Thanks. Will do when the occasion arises.

I may also cross post something on occasion (more likely from TDL to T21C, but it could go both ways). In either case, if I cross post I will modify the post for both crowds.

    thanks for commenting
