Actually, let's continue.

"Given the CSA’s nature (ie: it’s cultural and economic structure) it would have devolved into a European-like country in a generation or two (if not being turned back into a colony of some European kingdom outright)."

This is unfounded and borderline irrational speculation. The CSA just SECEDED from a union to form their own in a truly American sense, and you're telling us they would go back to being a COLONY of a European power? This thinking is totally devoid of logic and common sense.

"The USA should not have to tolerate such a fundamentally different nation so close to it – with such a strategic location, sizeable resources and man power."

"Tolerate" in this sentence makes me sick. Half the country wanted to live differently, the way the republic was founded, and you think the USA should not have to TOLERATE such a want from the people it derives its power from? THE PEOPLE are not at the beckon will and servitude of the government, clear your head of this garbage and never bow down to being "tolerated". Ugh, makes me sick to my stomach.

"The “Civil War” was a preemptive strike against a form of government which, to maintain itself, would have had to have eventually materially threatened the USA."

More irrational fear mongering & speculation, combined with the neo conservative "preemptive strike" non sense. Fight terror with terror eh? Wow, that's working out well in the modern era, I'm sure it was a swell idea then too.

I find this utterly ridiculous. "The North" crapped all over "individual rights". Are you seriously trying to rationalize destroying something to save it? Please, save me the neo-conservative nonsense. That's no more justified than crapping all over the constitution to "save" it.

The North's justification for the "Civil War" is that a CSA would necessarily become an enemy of the USA's (and every Northern state's) highest ideals (ie: the complete protection of individual rights). Not just an ideological enemy, but a material threat.

HA, fun game. I need to rent it again. Havent played the single player though.

Funny, that quote is also in "Escape from LA", a Kurt Russel movie from the early 90's (maybe late 80's). He says it right before setting off a worldwide EMP strike via satellite.

As for the constitutionality of the draft, please see my previous comment in this post.

This article reminds me of what was said in the dialogue of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:

"The more things change, the more they stay the same. History is written by the victors."

That said, the supreme court (http://biotech.law.lsu.edu/cases/nat-sec/selective-draft.htm) disagrees with you on the constitutionality of the draft.

I've seen Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum, it certainly opened up my mind and perspective a lot, not sure I agree with it 100 percent, but I personally am with the movement.
