Round 3: Drew Baye Renounces SPARTA

Round 3: Drew Baye Renounces SPARTA

As fate would have it, Drew Baye has had to make decisions similar to my own as of late (regarding Erika Awakening and psycho/lunatic Vince Kelvin).

~~~
And as of today, it appears Kezia Noble is next on my list thanks to her zealot like following of fan boys who can’t see past the boobs. Despite the dentata, I can’t envision her actually being worth a stand alone blog post though, so the Wikipedia link shall have to suffice.
Anyway, check out Drew Baye’s renouncement of the SPARTA Personal Training Certification Program.
Bill DeSimone’s Congruent Exercise [Full Video]
Bill DeSimone’s Congruent Exercise [Full Video]
A pleasant change of topics on TDL — back to exercise we go. This time around we have Bill DeSimone, the champion of bio-mechanics as it applies to exercise (although the official disclaimer is that Bill is not formally educated on the subject).
Of course, I am not formally educated on event planning and hosting, and I seem to do OK at it. Similarly, I think Doug McGuff would be the first to say that 95% of the things he learned in medical school relating to nutrition are not only false, but the complete and total opposite of reality.
The list goes on and on. What else is new? The mainstream, conventional wisdom status-quo sucks — and Bill does a fantastic job of tackling it, and laying the foundation for a more effective (and infinitely safer) way to exercise in this presentation.
Watch Congruent Exercise now.
The Race to 20,000
Doug McGuff M.D. T21C 2010 released March 5th 2011. As of June 17th 2011 it has 17,283 views. I’m guessing that’s in the realm of 14,000-15,000 unique viewers.
Pretty epic, and I am proud of driving the video this far, this fast (largely thanks to John Little and Doug McGuff for sharing the video on their blog and making their hardcore fans aware of it).
All things said and done though, I want it to go higher and faster!
This video is incredible, and I know it can do even better. At this rate it will break 50,000 views no problem within it’s first 12 months of release. But, I think the potential is there to make it hit that by the end of 2011. If that were to happen, there is a very real chance it will catch additional steam and go from 50 to 100,000, possibly, within 12 months of initial release.
A 6 digit view count for the doctor and T21C?
Awwwwwwwwwwww yeahhhhhhhhh.
So, now the question is, how do we…
An HIT Workout Video Manifesto
An HIT Workout Video Manifesto
As far as I know, I have more HIT workouts on video than anyone else in the world. This post is all of them in one spot, from (approximately) oldest to most recent.
These videos not only represent advances in the workout technically, but significant physical growth — which is pretty cool to actually see on video, step by step, month by month, year by year.
My diet has changed relatively little during this time, and the frequency has stayed pretty constant, at about once a week (or even less often).
In an effort to keep these videos from loading on the front page of this blog, I am going to paste AWESOME enough times to make them appear in the full post only.
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. …
Meeting Lord James Steele II and UK Adventures
Meeting Lord James Steele II and UK Adventures
‎”Don’t work for my happiness, my brothers–show me yours–show me that it is possible–show me your achievement–and the knowledge will give me courage for mine.”
Disclaimer: James isn’t actually a lord, but I enjoy British culture and use it every chance I get, even if the words I am using are fully and completely out of place.
I also love the accents. Really, it’s like music to my ears, especially from women. English, Welsh, Irish, variations there of, etc.
~~~

Who is James Steele II?

He’s a young man living in Southampton England — almost the exact same age as me — a graduate student, an eternal friend of life, liberty, and reason, and the man who will finish what Arthur Jones started.

What Drew Baye is to high intensity training, Doug McGuff is to exercise science, Mark Sisson is to proper nutrition, and Bill DeSimone is to congruent bio-mechanics,

Drew Baye Super Charged [Video]

Drew Baye Super Charged [Video]

Drew Baye’s speeches at The 21 Convention are really good [link]. His interview in The Community Tapes is IMO, even better [link]. This video however, is I think, the best ever produced of him.

It hit me during the filming just how valuable it was. Essentially, this is a video of Drew putting me through a full ‘Big 4 + Neck” workout in the spirit of Body by Science, explaining everything in superb detail for me, and you the viewer.

You then of course get to actually see me go through the workout, which was intense, to say the least (Drew is an outstanding trainer).

In short, it is a hybrid between a knowledge packed seminar style presentation, and an actual workout video, filmed in tandem with the information presented. It’s really cool and I have never seen it elsewhere to this degree and in this much detail.

Drew and I also make some important announcements at the end of this video (about the last 3 minutes if you want to skip…

High Intensity Training is Post Paleo

High Intensity Training is Post Paleo

Ok, that’s it, I’ve had enough. Kurt Harris’s Paleo 2.0 post is the last straw (in a positive sense).

I’m going to call out what I think many know, yet have not stated (as of yet).

HIT or, high intensity training, is the flip side of the same coin so far as “post-paleo” nutrition is concerned.

That’s right, it’s not ideal to chew on raw meat, and potatoes are probably not going to kill you.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Similarly, while these two men are both incredibly intelligent, none of this shit is exercise — including dragging your car out of the drive way, and rolling around on the ground like a toddler on speed.

Worse yet, risking death and exposing your body to very real danger has nothing to do with exercise, no matter how…

20 Pages of Notes on Dr. McGuff’s Speech

20 Pages of Notes on Dr. McGuff’s Speech

Tim Horine from http://www.menspsychology.com/ wrote 20 pages of notes on Dr. McGuff’s speech. They are below as was sent to me (which is raw and not edited for grammar/spelling). I’m assuming they are pretty awesome regardless. Cheers. Oh, and here is the speech if you haven’t seen it yet.

T21C Day 3 July 25th 2010: Doug McGuff

“Doug is one of the wisest men of our time, and so underappreciated and undervalued, its almost indescribable.” – Anthony Dream Johnson.

Doug did HIT 3 times/week during college, medschool, upper 30s

1) have the opportunity to hear it

2) to actually have listened to it

it would have been amazing how much Doug’s Life would have progressed.

Arthur Jones Nautilus HIT training camp, but it was 15-20 different movements, 3 days/week through college, medschool, residency, late 30s early 40s, and felt like hammered dogshit.

-If he knew the minimal amount necessary to trigger adaptive response and get enough rest.

All of his life would have been much more enjoyable in a recovered state.

Everything that…
