The website is temporary in that I’ll probably host it for only the next year, as it is designed to celebrate/share the wedding itself.
Right now it has the final event date, February 2nd 2014. [We also have the venue setup but the address is only going out to those who RSVP to written invitations].
In addition, the site has a pre-wedding photo album, a short history of our relationship, and the all important gift registry.
Also on the gift registry page is a special donation button to contribute to funding our wedding. We’re finding creative ways to keep the costs down, and have been more successful than I anticipated; enough to warrant a post on the subject when all is said and done.
Even so the wedding is — no matter how contextually “low” — a massive expense for us as a couple. As such, while both gifts and donations are appreciated, donations are much more important to us. Whether its $5, $100, or $1,000, any amount is helpful and seriously appreciated.
Truly, if you have ever wanted to thank me personally for creating and operating The 21 Convention, or this blog, this is the best way and time to do so. Rather than contributing to an organization I’ve created, you are directly contributing to my and Marilee’s personal happiness.
February 2nd is a day we both want to make it as perfect as possible.
There is some more good news to share as well : live streaming to Youtube is a go. Here is the link. That will be available world-wide at 4pm PST February 2nd 2014.
Marilee even convinced me to not put ads in it, although I was totally going to put some ads in it otherwise =D.
Finally … if you are absolutely determined to buy me a gift off the registry, or simply have cash burning a hole in your wallet, my top three favorites from the list are …
- ASUS 23 inch LED monitor ($170)
- Evoluent VerticalMouse (hat tip MAS) ($90)
- AeroPress Coffee Maker ($31)
Most everything else that is “For Anthony” was pulled off my wish list such as books and a few games, which gives a small look into what I plan on reading and playing in my leisure time.
Yes, I am a total sucker for Nintendo products.
