Resources
Below is a list of my favorite books and sites on topics of importance to me.
Proper Exercise
- Body by Science
- The definitive book on proper exercise. My absolute number one choice for scientifically backed information regarding exercise, fitness, sport performance, strength training, “cardio” and anything related.
- Moment Arm Exercise
- The definitive book on the overlooked bio-mechanics of exercise. A bit more advanced than Body by Science, but a MUST READ none the less.
- Baye.com
- The world’s most popular high intensity training blog. Easily one of the best blogs ever written on exercise.
- ArthurJonesExercise.com
- A bit older, but even more potent, the original writings of Arthur Jones. In depth, and an absolutely incredible resource. Read till your eyes bleed.
Proper Nutrition
- The Primal Blueprint
- The definitive book on proper nutrition. Click the title for my full in depth review.
- The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth
- A bit more specific on healthy eating. While not as comprehensive as The Primal Blueprint, it’s an excellent way to continue your education.
For Men
- The Way of the Superior Man
- Hands down, the best book ever written on women, work, and sexual desire. A must read for those interested in better success with women.
- Fire in the Belly
- Not quite as good as the above, but damn close (and somewhat similar). Check it out.
- Mastery
- This one is mandatory reading from George Leonard. It’s the antitode to… well you’ll figure it out =). Well written, in major bookstores and online retailers. You can also read it free by clicking the title (seriously).
- A New Earth
- A bit ‘woo woo’ for most people, but definitely worth your time. Be careful with this one.
- Way of the Peaceful Warrior
- An excellent book- in narrative form no less- for getting your inner game dialed, among other things. A must read. Be sure to check out the 2005 movie as well titled “Peaceful Warrior“.
- And God Laughs…
- A free autobiography you can not afford to miss. Seriously, go read this, now.
- RealSocialDynamics.blogspot.com
- This blog- particularly the older posts- is nothing short of jaw dropping. The fact that it’s free and just sitting around for people to read is even more astounding. Written by Owen Cook (aka Tyler) of Real Social Dynamics.
For Wealth
- The Four Hour Work Week
- Have you really not read this yet? A reality shattering book when it comes to lifestyle design, retirement, career…and damn near anything else he discusses.
- The Entrepreneurial Imperative
- Considering starting your own business? Still in college? More importantly, live in the US? Time to pick this book up- also recommended by Eban Pagen (aka “David De’Angelo).
- The Work of Seth Godin
- Basically everything this guy writes is gold. Seriously.
For Fun
- The Inheritance Cycle
- Reading is an invaluable skill, but how often do you sit down and do it for leisure? Probably not often enough. The Inheritance cycle (currently 3 books with a 4th on the way) is by far my favorite series of fictional books.
- The Journey’s of Socrates
- A sort of prequel to Way of the Peaceful Warrior, do not miss this after reading WOTPW. It is supposedly based- somewhat- on truth, but never the less it is a riveting read start to finish.
- I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell
- I have never laughed so hard in my life- this book is THAT funny. You can also read about how I met Tucker Max here.
