Thanks in part to Caleb Wojcik I’ve started a new series of video blogs. Caleb’s advice helped me select, create, light, stage the background, audio record, and film. I can’t say I’m following his tips perfectly, but there’s no question that his ideas have helped immensely with my video blogging setup.
For those curious, I’m filming on an iPhone 6s which I switched to recently from an iPhone 5c. Surprisingly, the immediate cost was almost nothing (the sale price of my old phone covered the down payment for the new phone, the remaining balance being interest free).
It shoots 4k video, although on my first batch of video blogs I failed to turn this feature on. Rest assure, in the near future you can stare at my pretty face in crystal clear 4k definition video =). The phone is also capable of shooting 1080p@60fps, although I suspect the 2160p quality video will hold up better than a frame rate bump 5+ years from now.
In this video blog I discuss some of the ideas presented in my written blog here. I also take the time to point people in general to Brent’s speech, which is extremely close to being the most popular speech from The 21 Convention 2014 at present. It’s currently second and closing in on first place.
There is another video blog style announcement here. Mostly pointing viewers to a more extensive written post concerning The 21 Convention 2015/2016 events, itself my first post on The 21 Convention Blog.
I’m currently working on a long written post for The 21C Blog, examining a recent speech that we published. I’ll probably cross-publish it here as well.
Regarding video blogs in general, they’re a lot of fun and good practice for being on stage at The 21 Convention. I prefer them over audio-only podcasts at the moment, although they are more time consuming to setup, create, and manage. Far as I am concerned, it’s effort well spent.
Finally, Morgan Freeman is an interesting counter example to my claim that not chasing women is not accepted in mainstream media and thinking. Although per my claim, even though Morgan is a high profile actor bringing this up on a major news network, few seem to be taking the idea seriously.
While he appears completely sincere, the idea is taken as amusing, not as real life dating advice.
