T21C Aftermath

You can read the official post event write up here, complete with pics and video from the event.

The behind the scenes version is what this post is meant to be.

~~~
The event was a full 5 days long, because we spent Wednesday July 20th filming premium DVD products for select speakers. As fate would have it the ensuing 4 day event would be the most difficult to date. Those days were in fact were the most difficult four days of my life. I was not aware I could dig that deep, suffer that much pain, and come out alive.
It was the perfect storm of obstacles and problems. It was as if almost the entire world decided to shrug at the same time — and I refused.
What was most interesting was that the entire time, I had two deep senses, that I held with absolute certainty, despite my surface level doubts.
1. I would not fail.
2. This is only a fraction of what I am capable of, and what is to come.
The second was even more bizarre to know than the first, in the midst of barely being able to breathe — and I mean that literally.
~~~

Since the event I have had the most unproductive week of my life. The first 2 days I think I had my first migraine. I felt “broken” in every sense of the term — physically, psycholgically, and spiritually.

Since then, I have tried my hardest to do nothing, and have had good success in this endeavor. I think this was both necessary and desired — wounds taking time to heal.

My time has been spent at the beach, reading books, and watching a single documentary (A Sense of Life), as well as thinking very long range about my life, and what I intend to do with it this year, in every facet.

~~~
Perhaps the greatest lesson I learned at the final Orlando Florida convention is that life is worth fighting for — and that it’s going to take one hell of a fight to win.
This is what I think Ayn Rand understood very well — what man is capable of, and what value life holds. I can think of no other reason that made her fight so hard, so long, and with such vigor — to the day her life ended.
In a single sentence, I think she knew that the clear depiction of an ideal man made possible the actualization of an ideal man. This was her greatest psychological achievement — the greatest achievement of her life.
And while she did not live to see the end result in physical reality, I think that day is coming. It was up to a woman to envision the ideal man — and it is up to a man to manifest that ideal.
ps — if my writing seems unclear or foggy lately, as it does to me, you are probably correct in that assertion. It should return brighter and more vivid than ever in a few days as my mind returns to normal.
    I was curious aboutt what you find yoursefl doing during the months before the t21c. Im sure it takes a bunch of tight planning/ re-planning/ organizing/ networking etc. but do you generate enough of an income from this 5 dday event to live for the rest of year? I know you have done some abroad as well, and i have no idea what t21c might get you $$$ wise, but do you have a day job/ other means of income ?
    You clearly handled yourself well, despite what may have gone on behind the scenes, the convention went on, and it was the best to date.
    The achievement of having men like Gary Korolov, Matt Hussey, and Skyler Tanner speaking at the same event… with virtually no filler in between, is immense.
    Enjoy your recovery man, not only do you need it but you also deserve it. Let me know what I can do to help out for next year.
