20 Pages of Notes on Dr. McGuff’s Speech

Tim Horine from http://www.menspsychology.com/ wrote 20 pages of notes on Dr. McGuff’s speech. They are below as was sent to me (which is raw and not edited for grammar/spelling). I’m assuming they are pretty awesome regardless. Cheers. Oh, and here is the speech if you haven’t seen it yet.

T21C Day 3 July 25th 2010: Doug McGuff

“Doug is one of the wisest men of our time, and so underappreciated and undervalued, its almost indescribable.” – Anthony Dream Johnson.

Doug did HIT 3 times/week during college, medschool, upper 30s

1) have the opportunity to hear it

2) to actually have listened to it

it would have been amazing how much Doug’s Life would have progressed.

Arthur Jones Nautilus HIT training camp, but it was 15-20 different movements, 3 days/week through college, medschool, residency, late 30s early 40s, and felt like hammered dogshit.

-If he knew the minimal amount necessary to trigger adaptive response and get enough rest.

All of his life would have been much more enjoyable in a recovered state.

Everything that…

The Doctor Is In

For those of you who have followed this blog long, or closely enough, you know all to well that I am a massive supporter of Doug and Body by Science — the #1 best seller of all time at The Dream Lounge global headquarters.

With that said, there are three points I want to make in regards to this speech.

1. This was one of, if not the proudest moment of my life.

While I did not think of it in these terms at the time, this was the emotion I was experiencing when Doug took the stage at The 21 Convention.

Pride, to the furthest extent possible — to the full degree.

Why is this?

Because I correctly recognized the “weight” Doug brought to my greatest achievement — the stage of The 21 Convention. In recognizing that tremendous weight — and for the first time in my life — I properly valued the strength of my achievement.

First time in my life because while there have…

Four Hour Body Mini Review

This is titled a “mini review” since it is (A) not a full review, and (B) my thoughts on the book as the content applies to me and me only.

First things first, I have enjoyed the book very much. Tim is the ultimate geek for the human body, and this monster of a book proves it.

Second, I found the following chapters and ideas most useful. The rest I either didn’t care about, or simply disagreed with [disclaimer for those who haven't bought it yet: Tim knew many of his readers would be in the same boat before publishing the book, so far as I am aware].

  • Ice Age: Mastering Temperature to Manipulate Weight
  • Six-Minute Abs: Two Exercises That Actually Work
    • Note: I do not perform direct work for my abs, nor will I start doing any. I like this chapter because Drew is in it and I think Drew is awesome. I also have a monopoly on Drew Baye Youtube…

Don’t Over Train, Eat Like Mark Sisson Told You To

This is the first clip ever shown publicly for The 21 Convention 2010 of Orlando Florida. Why I chose this clip first is revealed in the video.

You should also check out Patrick Diver on local news in Orlando. The guy interviewing him is totally clueless on all subjects mentioned. Patrick handles himself very well IMO.
