Your Favorite Top 7 Videos from The 21 Convention?

Currently when you sign up for The 21 Convention Newsletter you get a free audio pack download — and that’s it. While that’s kinda cool, it’s very short sighted in scope, and not in any way unique.

Right now I’m interested in, instead of the above, creating a “Free 7 Video Course Bootcamp”, that sends the new e-mail subscriber a video every Sunday as part of a 7 week program. These would need to be the top 7 videos from The 21 Convention, that also properly introduce them to the convention, and the wide range of topics.

While I could easily pull the top videos in terms of views and select from there, I would like some input on the choices.

Currently thinking something like:

A Personal Message from Anthony Dream Johnson

This is a message I wrote for The 21 Convention 2010 DVD Series pre-order (only past attendees were given access). I think the readers of this blog will find much value in it.

A few months ago I stated publicly that I was “trying to find my footing in life”. In the proper context, this can be read as “man’s search for meaning” – my own search for meaning.

Not long ago, I stopped my search, absolutely and completely.

Stopped because I came to understand what I was looking for. As an immediate result, I found what I was looking for.

The 21 Convention

The meaning of life is what man makes of it. Or, in another sense, what man makes of what nature has provided him.

The skill of your hands, the sweat of your brow, the fruit of your efforts – and the reason of a man’s mind.

I realized, The 21 Convention is the peak expression of my own self – the pinnacle meaning of my life as it stands…

An Age of Video

If it’s not apparent by the heavy video emphasis of The 21 Convention, I’m pretty convinced video is only going to become more prevalent as a medium of communication, as time goes on.

With that said, compare the following three videos.

Tim’s is excellent, and something the videographer for T21C has considered implementing for some time. My only criticism is the 3D model of his book. It looks a bit off compared to the rest of the video.

I like Art’s trailer a lot as well. Implementing that into T21C would be a bit more difficult, but not impossible. One idea would be to go back to a documentary format like The Community Tapes, and use that story telling style for a full length episode.

As for the defined post (third link), I will be expanding further in the future and getting in to more detail, since that post was a laying of foundations, not the finishing touch.

I was working on new attendance pages for The 21 Convention 2011 Europe and North America the other day. In the process of doing so I decided to grab* the best video-recorded comments from speakers and attendees. Naturally, I looked to our documentary series The Community Tapes (Tim’s episode is here).

Which is exactly when I came across the above gem from Tim. In one minute and forty six seconds, Tim paints a crystal clear picture of what The 21 Convention

  • is about
  • what it’s like being there
  • and the direction it’s heading in.

I could not ask for more from a speaker. Clear, to the point, and well spoken – not to mention, I think his age brings in another dynamic to the picture.

Lifestyle Experiment: Homeless By Design

I originally wrote something a bit more emotional up, but decided to instead re-write this as bare bones as possible (take that for what it’s worth, as I am pretty long winded at times).

Long story short: I am homeless, have been since July 30th 2010, and plan to continue this lifestyle for … man, who knows how long.

What do I mean by “homeless”?

Just that: I have no home. There is literally no where in the world right now that I would consider “home”.

No bedroom, no house, no apartment, no condo, etc.

I have chosen to simultaneously live no where and everywhere, all at the same time.

From mainland Florida, to California, Texas, the Florida Keys, Australia, and Europe, my goals are set high, far, and wide.

As I write this I sit in a coffee shop off Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles California. Yet, this was not my first stop. That title goes, ironically, to Orlando Florida.

It is as much a declaration of change in my actions, as it is an assertion of the right to exist for my own sake, and nothing else.

While brief in script, this is months if not years in the making – slow as some of these realizations have been.

1. The 21 Convention is the #1 men’s convention in the world. There is nothing else like it even remote in comparison, on any level, and to any degree.

2. The 21 Convention is a gathering of the best and brightest men in the world – both on stage and in the audience. It is these individuals that I have sought to address since the very beginning – knowingly or unknowingly – and it is these individuals I will continue to address.
