Welcome back to The Dream Lounge.
Today weāll be roasting and exposing my scumbag father, seen above in one of his several domestic violence mugshots after beating my mother. That mugshot is specific to what you are about to read from my senior year of high school, just days after Thanksgiving in 2005.
Rather than retell the events from memory, Iām taking a simpler route today by republishing the police report content, and the original document itself.
While my father has many public records in Lee County for his violent criminality, some are confidential (sealed) that I have to file a small lawsuit to unseal. That is annoying but I will get it done.
Iāve also discovered recently however that many other documents are in a sort of limbo state. Meaning they were and are currently public record, but have to be reviewed for free by a clerk of the court before being published openly.
They basically do a quick one step check for confidential information and black out anything they find like a social security number that should not be public. It takes a few days but so far so good, no cost, smooth sailing.
You can download the original PDF below or read the main content Iāve exported. I have some commentary to add after you read this main part.
On 11/29/05, at approximately 2017 hours, I responded to 5227 SW 28th Place, in reference to a battery. Upon arrival I spoke with Rosemary Johnson (victim) who stated she was involved in an argument with her husband, Alfred Johnson. Rosemary stated they were at the dinner table when the argument started.
Rosemary stated she got up from the table because of all the yelling and that is when she was hit in the back with a plastic water bottle, thrown by Alfred. Rosemary stated the two began arguing for several minutes and that is when Alfred began pointing his finger at Rosemary, touching her nose in an unwanted manner.
Rosemary stated she walked away and again Alfred followed her and spit in her face while the two were still yelling. Rosemary attempted to walk away from the confrontation and that is when Alfred kicked her in the butt with his foot.
Rosemary stated she was afraid of Alfred so she walked back into the kitchen in an attempt to get away from him and that is when Alfred hit Rosemary on the top of the head with a closed fist, approximately five times. Rosemary stated in self-defense she hit Alfred in the face with a wet wipes container. Rosemary stated Alfred then left the residence in his vehicle.
Rosemary advised me her head was hurting an wanted to seek medical attention. That is when EMS, medic 14, arrived and treated her injuries. EMS advised me she had several large knots on the top of her head and they treated her by using an ice bag.
I spoke with Rosemaryās son, Anthony Johnson (witness), who witnessed Alfred throw the water bottle at Rosemary. Anthony also advised me he did not see the kick but heard a loud bang, then Rosemary told him she was just kicked by Alfred. Anthony stated he did see the spitting and witnessed Alfred grab Rosemary by the hair.
Statements from Anthony and Rosemary were obtained and I also issued Rosemary a domestic violence packet. I was unable to take photographs of Rosemary due to the location of the bump on her head, it was covered by her hair. I made contact with Alfred via cell phone where he stated he did not want to meet with me because he knew the repercussions.
Alfred verbally stated he had been involved in an altercation with Rosemary and stated to me he had hit her in the head and spit on her. I asked Alfred to meet with me to discuss his version of the incident but he adamantly denied and told me to, āDo what I have to doā.
CCPD dispatch advised me at approximately 2240 hours Alfred returned home. I arrived and spoke with Alfred about the incident. I read Alfred his Miranda Rights, at which time he understood them and wished to speak with me.
Alfred stated the two did get into an argument and he did throw a water bottle at Rosemary. Alfred stated the two were pointing fingers at each other and each spit on one another. Alfred stated he was punched in the face twice by Rosemary and that this is when he then punched her in the face three times.
Alfred did not wish to provide me with a sworn written statement. Based on victim and witness statements it was determined Alfred was the primary aggressor in the incident. Alfred was placed under arrest for domestic violence battery and transported to CCPD for processing and later taken to LCJ in apparent good health.
My thoughts.
As it mentions, it looks like I provided a written statement to police. I was 17 at the time, the same age I founded what many of you know as 21 Studios.
Iām going to make a public records request for the written statements, which do not appear in the public court records. Florida has very strong āsunshine lawsā for documents like this, and police should provide it to me eventually, similar to the police report document in the courts.
If this is indeed the incident Iām recalling (this kind of shit happened a lot), I was able to intervene at the last moment and rip him off her, throwing him against a two stage oven in the kitchen. He didnāt fight back with me and left the house as the report states. Had I not done this, he may have continued beating her.
As it also states he knew where this was heading, and his arrest was imminent. He was a veteran domestic abuser by this point. From what I remember he left in a state of shock. For my part I was surprised he didnāt start throwing punches at me.
If my recollection is correct, this was the last time I was ever in the house when he hit her.
Regarding his comments at the end, to my knowledge these were just lies he made up trying to get out of it or establish a defense to be used later in court. Thatās why he didnāt put them in sworn writing, which would be perjury. Never once in my life did my mother close a fist and punch him to my memory, which would have been useless.
She did spit at him a few times in life, in defense, after being beaten. Never once did I see her initiate any degree of violence or assault like he claimed here. She was 5ā4, he was 6ā1. He could have easily killed her at many points in their marriage, on accident or on purpose.
This is her, myself, and my older sister just a few months later at my highschool graduation. I didnāt smile much at that point in time. With the reality of home life, it never seemed appropriate.
The women in my family always chose a different path of evading reality, enabling abuse, and denying the danger we were all in. For decades. Itās quite sad and continues to this day at the hands of my sisters in various ways. The little one in particular is a big fan of defaming me and glorifying our father, no matter the facts. Neither one of them has ever publicly condemned the brutal violence our mother suffered.
It disgusts to me to no end. Only now with the gruesome murder of our mother by domestic violence is this giant house of cards and lies crumbling down.
